PERKESO Lindung 24 Jam brings slightly higher payroll deductions
10 October 2026
PERKESO has launched the Lindung 24 Jam scheme, which extends social security protection beyond workplace injuries to round-the-clock coverage. The expanded protection comes with slightly higher salary deductions, according to The Star. The scheme is mandatory for foreign workers but local employees may opt out by submitting an exemption form, with an online opt-out option also now available. PERKESO previously gave non-compliant employers a grace period until 22 June to comply. Employers need to confirm updated contribution rates are reflected in payroll before processing affected pay runs.
What this means for you
All employers with SOCSO-liable staff. Check Settings > Payroll > SOCSO Contribution Rates in StaffE to confirm the updated Lindung 24 Jam deduction rates are applied. For foreign workers, ensure the scheme remains active as opt-out is not permitted for that group.
