Lindung 24 Jam opt-out requires exemption form from workers
9 October 2026
The government has confirmed that participation in SOCSO Lindung 24 Jam is voluntary, but workers who wish to opt out must complete and submit an exemption form. The minister, Fahmi, stated the scheme is now optional following earlier mandatory enrolment plans. Employers will need to manage this process for affected staff, as contributions differ depending on whether a worker is enrolled or has filed an exemption. No new contribution rate has been announced. The procedural requirement for a written opt-out form means employers cannot simply stop deductions without a documented exemption from the employee.
